This year’s choreographer, Fumie Suzuki of 86B210, is also the head of the Art Space 呼応/co-oh in Yotsuya-sanchome. So I went there to practice.
The lesson was like removing rust from my body and reconnecting broken and tangled nerves. Today, the day after the practice, I feel a sensation, not of sore muscles, but of muscles and nerves that have not been trained, groaning in an attempt to recover.
The body quickly produces, grasps and reacts to the impulse from within.
Indeed, on 7 and 8 October, I will be able to show you a completely new Nanae Itokazu.

In the afternoon, I went to Atelier Dai Q Geijutsu to sign the contract. I had already set the date, but as I live abroad, it was only yesterday that we signed the contract. This is the second time I’ve signed a contract here, but I’m still very excited.
For ten years, at Atelier Dai Q Geijutsu, with a different choreographer…I give a solo performance. The challenge project, 《Ten Years》.
For the second year, we were able to ask Fumie Suzuki of 86B210, a much cooler avant-garde dance duo active in Japan and abroad, to choreograph the piece! We were able to do it! We are thrilled and are gradually making preparations.
The choreographers and dates for the second year have been decided, and we have created a postcard for your information. The postcards were designed by yamasin(g), the same artist as on the flyer. For the postcard, we used a photo by Masatsugu Shibata from 《Botanical Body》, choreographed by butoh dancer Yuri Nagaoka… but for the second year, we will show something completely different.
With my body changing every year, and with a different choreographer every year, I will build up, draw out and create something new. This will be such a project.
